Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships

Types of Study
The FLAS fellowships assist undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree students in achieving competency in selected foreign languages in combination with international and area studies coursework. The Foreign Language & Area studies (FLAS) Fellowships are available for the less commonly taught languages of Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Persian/Farsi, Portuguese, Russian, and Swahili. Funding for advanced French, German, and Spanish languages may be available. FLAS fellowships can be used to study abroad (Summer) or on campus (academic year).
